City of Atlanta to pay $20,000 for allegedly improper police conduct

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the city of Atlanta is expected to pay an Atlanta woman $20,000 after the woman was arrested by Atlanta police officer Brandy Dolson.

62-year-old Minnie Carey was arrested on disorderly conduct charges after the officer demanded that she and several friends, who were discussing an upcoming funeral, move from a sidewalk. When Ms. Carey asked the officer why, she was arrested.

The AJC reported that the officer "already had a troubled history with the Atlanta Police Department."
